So as you probably know, Duke has an incredible basketball program and has a huge rivalry against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Every year, Duke plays UNC in Cameron Indoor Stadium, and its kind of a HUGE game. Thus, people tent for the game as early as 7 weeks (this year) before the game. This is called Black Tenting. And that is what I am doing...or rather, was doing. I quit earlier this week because I got way too busy with work and needed a break. I was in Tent Black. Bleed Blue. I am going to start tenting again though next week with a Blackwell group (was originally going to retent with Bassett but they had an overload so I offered to look for another group). Tenting has definitely been an experience though. It was pretty cold the first week, but has gotten significantly better since then.
Rush
Caroline, Nicholle, and I rushed Leadership Roundtable, an SLG. We didn't get accepted even though I'm pretty sure we were one of the few people rushing that were actually kind of normal...but I guess they're not into that kind of thing because the people that were accepted were pretty much wallflowers. But whatever. Caroline and Nicholle did get a bid fromt he business fraternity akpsi though! I'm so happy for them!! The only problem is...housing.
Housing
Originally, we had planned to block with each other if rush did not work out. However, AKPsi requireds their members to live in section so Caroline and Nicholle can't block with me anymore. I have to figure out what I'm doing by next week!!! I feel like I'm probably going to end up blocking with Leighanne and Priya, but we'll see. I was thinking about pledging APO, the community service fraternity but I don't think I would have enough time especially since my service hours need to be part of the chapters assignments.
